On hiatus.

Photobucket

I'm taking an extended break from this particular blog because I have some other things I'm pursuing. I might wax philosophical/political from time to time in the future, or as the news calls for it.

I'm not deleting the blog or anything, though.

Thanks for your time,

Mobile Thought

Now, I'm not a genius, but I think this "Taliban Near Nukes" issue would have been less so if the previous administration hadn't distracted us with Iraq.

But, I'm just one man.

You Wanna Impress Me? Take the wheel.

A lot of people (several friends of mine included,) are abuzz because Senator Arlen Spector switched from GOP to Dem. Some of them are ecstatic; while others pissed beyond belief.

My take is this: I'm not impressed. I don't really think switching parties, when you're in the Northeast, old, and have your legacy written isn't a exceedingly bold move. That isn't to mention that this is also about covering one's own hide. Nope. Not impressed.

While this may help with some issues I care about like universal health care and EFCA, I think maybe some people need to hold off on the canonization.

Also, Republicans might need to step back, breathe a bit, and ask some hard questions about why people are jumping ship. Just saying.

"So, we're cool, right? Wait, I mean, we're cool, left? Look, are we cool or not?"

America shows buccaneers what's what.

While I acknowledge that some conditions may have led to the issue of piracy off the coast of Somalia, I ws very angered by the recent taking of the American sea captain.

And while his rescue may or may not be a foreign policy victory for President Obama, I believe one thing has been made abundantly clear: Pirates. Suck.

And you have STILL have no rings, Barry.

The G20... One of the funniest political pictures ever.

And then the economic summit became the most high-powered happy-hour ever. President Obama and Jintao can hold their liquor. PM Berlusconi... um. No more wine for you.

Main Street is OVER

I know it's cute to draw correlations between "Main Street" and "Wall Street." But the traditional "Main Street" is NEVER coming back. With the interstate, big box stores, and urban sprawl, the old model of Main Street is not only done, it's unrealistic. So, to paraphrase Rick Pitino...

"Andy Griffith is not walking through that door... and if he does, he'll be old and gray."
